Return to the Cellars of the Abandoned Village

Having found their way back to Kuldhek, and hearing the news of the goblin attacks, the party got a glimpse of some goblin corpses that had yet to be disposed of, and saw that these were quite different in appearance from the wolf-riding type that they had encountered previously. These goblins were much larger and well-equipped. While their swords weren’t of the highest quality, they were decent and impeccably maintained.

Neilas performed the basic repair work necessary on the farm, while Sammuel and Stephye took Marty to Higherdall’s to provision the place. As well, they purchased winter gear for the change in season was already here.

Sybel took time to visit the wise-woman west of town and barter the spider venom glands with her in hopes of gaining some magical knowledge. The woman was receptive and shared some knowledge which Sybel was later able to synthesize into learning a new spell. She also established a friendly relationship with the woman which she would later maintain over the winter.

Neilas and Stephye went to Boulgerie in hopes of selling the giant centipede venom—first discovering how much they could get for it through legal sale to an apothecary and later on the black market, though ultimately they decided to keep it instead of selling it.

The party decided to make a return trip to the abandoned village and hired Alard to guide them this time. Departing on Saidus 4, the trip out seemed to go a bit faster and it was uneventful though the weather had become sharply colder.

Returning to the cellars cautiously, the party found the basements and natural caves as they had left them, but once they entered the previously sealed area they found the door they had left locked ajar. At the end of the hall, outside the one room they had previously not entered, they found a net and a pile of human bones that had not been there before. Entering that room, they were attacked by an animated human skeleton wielding a mace, which Stephye quickly destroyed.

Returning to a section of the cellars outside the sealed area that they had not explored on their last visit, they disturbed a giant slug that spat an acid which splashed and injured both Sybel and Stephye. They party managed to kill it without sustaining any further injuries however.
